Meet the manager at Meadows Park Care Home, Kelly Coulthard

1. Tell us about your journey with Tanglewood.

I’ve been with Tanglewood for 11 years. I started out at one of our smaller homes, which has 30 beds, and over time I wanted a new challenge. The move to a larger home like Meadows Park care home has given me the chance to take on different experiences from the ones I had before.

2. As a home manager, what does your role entail?

My role as manager is wide and varied. At its heart, it’s about making sure the residents who call Meadows Park their home are happy and well cared for, and that their families feel supported too.

3. Which part of the role do you enjoy the most?

Seeing our team and residents happy. Knowing we’re making a real difference to people’s lives is what makes the job so rewarding for me.

4. How would you describe the team at Meadows Park care home?

Our care team are outgoing and bubbly, and they’re brilliant at what they do. The love and care they show our residents every day is something I’m really proud of.

5. What would you say to families looking for a care home for their loved one?

We’re here for families as much as for residents, and we involve them closely in life at Meadows Park. We’ll show you around and welcome you back for second visits, so you feel comfortable from the start. Families are always invited to join in with our daily activities too.

One thing I always explain is that our team takes care of the caring, giving you the chance to simply be a daughter or son again.
